August 16: Diamond Jubilee Mass in Front of ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ Internment Center

Fr. Frank O’Laughlin to celebrate 60 years ordained a Catholic priest by celebrating Mass in unity with our immigrant brothers and sisters

Our temple will be the Everglades. Our cross will be the Alligator Alcatraz detention center. Fr. Frank O'Laughlin, founder and executive director of the Guatemalan Maya Center, will celebrate the  60 year anniversary of his ordination as a Catholic priest.by continuing the primary focus of his ministry—compassionate advocacy on behalf of migrant workers and marginalized communities, fighting for the rights of our immigrant brothers and sisters.

Surrounded by members of the Guatemalan-Maya community, members of GRACE in the USA, and friends, Fr. Frank will celebrate his Diamond Jubilee Mass on August 16, 2025, at 10:30 AM outside of the newly erected detention center fence (54575 Tamiami Trail E., Ochopee, FL).
